HISTORY OF THE PLACE
How It All Began
Baanpufa was created with one clear purpose: to offer a peaceful, welcoming space where people could reconnect with nature and each other.

After many years working in the tourism industry in Bangkok, Mr. and Mrs. Kongsen felt the call to return to a quieter way of life. In 2003, they found a beautiful riverside plot of land in Sai Yok, Kanchanaburi. Surrounded by trees, mountains, and the gentle flow of the Kwai Noi River, it felt like the right place to bring their vision to life.

They named it Baanpufa, meaning “home beneath the mountain and sky.” From day one, the goal was simple: to make guests feel cared for, connected, and completely at ease.

OUR FAMILY

Keeping The Dream Alive
What started as a few wooden bungalows soon grew into a cherished retreat for groups of all kinds. Families, school camps, and company teams began visiting not just for the scenery, but for the sense of warmth and belonging they felt here.
The Kongsens continued to expand with love and intention — adding floating rooms on the river, larger cottages, and outdoor spaces for bonding and reflection.

Throughout the years, Baanpufa has stayed true to its roots: cozy, unpretentious, and full of heart. Guests return year after year, not just for the view, but because it feels like home.
BAANPUFA TEAM
A Celebration For All
Baanpufa is more than a resort, it’s a living community.
Our staff live on-site, know the land like family, and take pride in creating a space that’s genuinely welcoming. Whether you're singing by the bonfire, picking fruit from the garden, or simply enjoying a quiet morning by the river, every part of Baanpufa invites you to slow down and savor the moment.
With chickens, ducks, and goats on the property, plus coconut, banana, and pomelo trees lining the grounds, there’s a rhythm here that follows nature’s lead. It’s peaceful, it’s grounded, and it’s waiting to welcome you in.
